This website looks at members of the BRUDENELL and associated families. The name was part of my late husband’s family.

In 1881 the BRUDENALL surname was mainly based in the Midlands and south Yorkshire. The greatest number were from Northants, centering on the Oundle district. In 2002 there were 712 current instances of the BRUDENELL/BRUDENALL name in the Office of National Statistics database.

The earliest instance I’ve proved is Job BRUDENELL, born bef 1708 (d 1744 in Warmington, NTH). However, the name is a very ancient one and I have seen reports of a deed mentioning the name in 1366. Much more research is needed to pursue and prove this information.

If you find that I have omitted anyone, made an error or if you have any extra information I should love to hear from you.

Please take a look at 'Most Wanted' and see if you can identify the people. Their identities are proving elusive at the moment.

I have much more information to add but all data needs checking before it’s uploaded. I will update the website frequently so please check back.

I’m a member of the Guild of One Name Studies which means I collect all instances of the surname that I come across.

Every effort is taken to ensure copyright is not infringed, please let me know if you come across an issue.

I also have 2 sister websites for the JUBB and VICKERMAN sides of my family, please visit them at Jubb One Name Study and Vickerman One Name Study

As well as researching BRUDENELL, my other interests on this website include - MITCHELL, BIRCHAM, CROWTHER, FOWLER, HEWITT, KEMP, MANTON, MASSINGHAM, RUSHBROOK, STAFFORD, TAKEN, WAKE, WHITELEY, WILMERSON, etc. To see all surnames, please click on ‘surnames’ in the ‘search box’ above.
